Ridiculous Diets that Celebrities Have Done that Are…Well, Quite Questionable

A lot of celebrities feel the pressure of looking good in front of the screen and in red carpet appearances, while some others simply want to feel better and look better for themselves.

Their reasons for adhering into different diets are varying, although it is safe to say that not all of them resort to the healthier and more advisable means. Some even take it too far by jumping onto eyebrow-raising diet plans that do not only sound crazy, but are ridiculous as well. Here are some of them:

Baby Food Diet

A couple of years back, the baby food diet became one of the most talked-about plans after celebrities were said to have praised it for helping them in their weight loss journey.

According to reports, celeb trainer Tracy Anderson started the trend, but the coach had since denied it. The program entails the person to eat 14 jars of baby food as a replacement for two meals, which means you can only eat one low-calorie meal daily.

Reese Witherspoon allegedly followed the Baby Food diet

Reese Witherspoon had reportedly tried the diet, although is it really worth trying? Sure you won’t need to cook, but think about the calorie count of the food – a jar has 25 to 80 calories each, which means you’ll likely consume 1,000 calories on baby food.

Eating Clay

“Divergent” star Shailene Woodley ate clay to remove metals in her body.

As insane as that may have sounded, Shailene Woodley actually had done this, believing it could rid her body of heavy metals. “The Fault In Our Stars” actress went on to explain that the clay binds with material on your body, which your body will then excrete.

She also claimed that her friend who tried the plan reported smelling metal in her stool and pee, which she said happens in the beginning. It is probably best not to try this since our bodies are designed to remove toxic chemicals. Plus, Dr. David L. Katz said that flushing metals out of the body is not good since some, like iron, is essential to our health.

Master Cleanse

This one is perhaps more popular than others on this list, thanks to Beyonce. The Master Cleanse is based on “The Master Cleanser” book written by Stanley Burroughs.

Also called the lemonade diet, it relies on lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup alone, which means it sounds simple and easy to whip up. However, that doesn’t mean it is sustainable — just imagine getting your energy from a sweetened lemon drink without solid food.

Beyonce popularized the Master Cleanse, also known as the Lemonade Diet, which she followed in preparation for “Dreamgirls”

That’s what Queen Bey reportedly did before she starred in “Dreamgirls.” The idea behind the Master Cleanse is that it speeds up weight loss and detoxifies your body. You will likely be depriving your body of other nutrients because you’re just consuming the lemonade potion and nothing else.
