Lauren Bacall was one of the iconic actresses the world became acquainted with from Hollywood’s Golden Age. The American Film Institute named Bacall as the 20th greatest classic Hollywood female star and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded her an Honorary Academy Award. Bacall started by taking acting classes at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1941 and she was actually classmates with actor Kirk Douglas. Since her debut in Hollywood in 1942, she appeared in several movies, including on How to Marry a Millionaire, Misery, Scooby-Doo! The Goblin King, and The Forger. Bacall died in August 2014 at the age of 89.
