James Darren – Age 83

One of the most handsome faces of his time, James Darren caught the eye of casting director and talent agent Joyce Selznick in the most interesting way. According to him, his secretary, Yvonne Bouvier, set up a meeting between Darren and Selznick to see if she could cast him in a few projects. And they did meet up, but not as they had planned. On his way to the meeting, Darren boarded the same elevator as Selznick, who simply kept staring at him. That was the meeting! After a week, Selznick brought Darren over to Columbia Pictures and his career took off.
