Despite her long and successful career, we can definitely say that Maggie Smith’s most recognizable role is as Professor Minerva McGonagall on the Harry Potter series. One of Britain’s most significant actresses, Maggie appeared in numerous notable films over the years earning two Academy Awards out of six nominations. The 83-year-old portrayed the role of Violet Crawley on Downton Abbey for years and she is not thinking of retirement just yet. She also has an upcoming movie called A Boy Called Christmas which will be released in 2020.
