Despite her long and successful career, we can definitely say that Maggie Smith’s most recognizable role is as Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter series. One of Britain’s most significant actresses, Maggie appeared in numerous notable films over the years, earning two Academy Awards out of six nominations. The 85-year-old Smith portrayed the role of Violet Crawley on Downton Abbey for years and she is not thinking of retirement just yet. Smith starred in the much-awaited Downton Abbey movie a movie called A Boy Called Christmas recently released in 2020.
