William Shatner and Elizabeth Anderson Martin dated for a year before Elizabeth donned a wedding dress for their matrimony in 2001. He was 70 years old then and she was 40. Shatner, the Star Trek cast member who gave life to Captain James T. Kirk, was married three times before.

In 2004, Elizabeth co-wrote the song titled “Together” on Has Been, William’s album. William and Elizabeth, who is also a professional horse trainer, both share the same experience of losing a spouse to death. This shared grief was what brought them closer together in the first place.
