Sidney Poitier & Joanna Shimkus – 43 Years Together

Sidney Poitier will forever be remembered for being the first black actor who won the Best Actor award at the Golden Globe and Academy Awards. This was all thanks to his superb performance in the movie, Lillies on the Field. In 1976, he tied the knot with former actress Joanna Shimkus.

Before this, he had a fifteen-year marriage with Juanita Hardy. It was later revealed that he had a nine-year affair during their marriage. Poitier doesn’t act anymore today, but he will be appearing in a new documentary titled Scales of Injustice.
