John McCririck – Age 78

It’s hard to imagine that the flamboyant English horse racing pundit at some point worked as a waiter at the Dorchester Hotel. To top that off, he even tried out working as a bookmaker but luckily, fate led him to journalism. He started by hosting The Sporting Life and soon reported from the betting ring for ITV and Channel 4. He’s perhaps best remembered for taking on different over-the-top personas while reporting and wearing quite colorful clothes, including matching suits and massively huge hats. The Racing Paper has had McCririck as part of their editorial team since 2018.
