Mara Wilson – Left Acting To Pursue Writing

Mara’s parents weren’t exactly excited about her pursuing an acting career at an early age, but she was still able to book high-profile commercials for brands like Texaco and Lunchables. But Mara, though a commercial actress then, was determined to also get to the big screen, so she auditioned for the movie Mrs. Doubtfire and won the part. She revealed that she suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and anxiety when she was around 12. These days, she’s helping raise awareness and promote treatment for these conditions. She left acting to pursue writing.
